Job Description:
Job Title: Assistant County Attorney- District Court, Juvenile Division
Status: Full-Time
We're seeking a motivated Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for law and a desire to excel in a fast-paced environment. We're looking for a candidate that's a self-starter who can manage their own time and complete tasks assigned in a diligent manner while effectively managing relationships with co-workers and the public at large.
Responsibilities:
Mainly prosecuting juvenile cases. Occasionally taking adult criminal cases to trial on their own or in conjunction with other Assistants, as assigned by the Meade County Attorney.
Skills
- Strong understanding or willingness to learn various areas of law including juvenile and criminal law
- Excellent research skills with the ability to analyze complex legal issues
- Proficiency in negotiation techniques
- Familiarity with using legal databases like West-Law
- Ability to work well in a team environment within a law office setting
Minimum Requirements:
Juris doctorate, admission in good standing of the Kentucky Bar Association. Some experience preferred but not required.
