Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Yard Laborer to join our dynamic team! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for supporting precast operations through materials handling, equipment operation, and ensuring the smooth flow of production in our distribution yard. Duties
- Participate in the entire precast production process, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Operate machinery and equipment used in the manufacturing of precast concrete products.
- Conduct regular inspections of molds, materials, and finished products to maintain high-quality output.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot production issues and implement effective solutions.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Load and unload trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Operate cranes and other heavy machinery safely to move large or heavy items within the yard or warehouse.
- Maintain a clean, organized yard by stacking pallets, managing materials handling tasks, and ensuring clear pathways for safe movement. You will be in charge of yard management for all companies.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment such as forklifts and cranes, reporting mechanical issues promptly to maintenance teams.
- Follow OSHA guidelines and safety procedures diligently to uphold a secure work environment for all team members.
- Wash various equipment and trucks.
- Maintain the yard by mowing, trimming, weed control, snow removal, etc.
Skills
- Some mechanical knowledge/interest in operating heavy equipment like forklifts, large trucks, cranes, and load & unload machinery safely.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting regularly while maintaining proper safety techniques.
- Ability to understand and follow OSHA safety standards related to warehouse operations and materials handling.
- Experience with pallet jacks, construction materials handling, and using mechanical tools is a plus.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to follow instructions precisely in fast-paced environments.
