Key Responsibilities
- Unload inbound trucks and lumber backhauls from contracted delivery services.
- Receive incoming lumber using barcode scanning software and accurately tag and store inventory.
- Assist with unloading rail cars and staging materials.
- Load building packages, trusses, wall panels, and other materials for customer delivery or production.
- Stock lumber and building materials in designated storage locations.
- Transport and restock materials throughout the facility and yard as needed.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment through routine housekeeping.
- Assist in other yard or production functions as business needs require.
- Follow all company safety policies and operating procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, lumberyard, construction, or material handling environment preferred.
- Forklift, loader, or other heavy equipment experience preferred.
- Experience using inventory management or barcode scanning systems is a plus.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong customer service mindset when interacting with internal and external customers.
- Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 75 pounds on a frequent basis.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts, loaders, and other material handling equipment.
- Comfortable working outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work around large building materials, including lumber, trusses, and pre-assembled wall panels.
- Construction or building materials experience is beneficial.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and productive work environment.
