What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Engineering Intern position at Mead & Hunt?
Mead & Hunt, Inc., a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm has an exciting opportunity available for a limited-term, full-time engineering intern to work on Building Engineering projects at either our Madison, WI or Denver, CO office starting in May/June 2026 and ending in August/September 2026.
The intern will be responsible for assisting project engineers with the following:
- 3D building systems modeling
- HVAC software applications
- Load calculations
- Preparing reports and studies
- Coordinating with design team members
- Occasionally assisting project engineers with site surveys
- May assist with building commissioning
- Other tasks as assigned.
A valid driver’s license and occasional travel will be required.
Successful candidates must have completed at least four semesters of college-level coursework in mechanical engineering, architectural engineering or a relevant degree from an accredited college or university.
The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following:
- Coursework in HVAC and/or plumbing related projects
- Experience with Revit software
- Experience working in a design team setting.

Hourly Rate Range: $18.00 to $25.00 per hour – Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set or location.
