Mead & Hunt is currently looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Transportation team as an Entry-Level Civil / Water Resources Engineer in Columbia, MD.
Responsibilities Include
- Assisting the design team with preparation of roadway drainage and stormwater designs
- Performing Hydrology and hydraulics design calculation and analyzing existing projects
- Coordinating with multiple utility owners, MDOT, municipalities and regulatory agencies
- Preparing or modifying reports, specifications, plans, schedules, studies, permits, and designs for projects
- Preparing design computations and quantity estimates
- Assisting with quantity take-offs and cost estimates for projects
- Some travel will be required
The Successful Candidate Must Have The Following
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in civil engineering or relevant field from an accredited college or university
- EIT or ability to pass FE exam within six months of hire date
- Transportation and/or hydrology and hydraulics related coursework
- AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation software experience
- Ability to read engineering plans, contours, and drafting
- Previous civil engineering internship
- Utility coordination and design experience
- Municipal engineering design experience
