Responsibilities
Mead & Hunt, Inc., a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a position available for a limited-term, full-time engineering intern to work on water resources projects starting May/June 2024 and ending in the fall of 2024. Responsibilities include assisting engineers with the design of water resources civil/structural engineering projects; performing design calculations, quantities, and cost estimates; assisting with the preparation of drawings; helping with report preparation; construction submittal reviews, and performing construction observation, as needed.
Qualifications
Successful candidates must have completed at least two semesters (4 semesters, and upper division preferred) of college-level coursework in civil or structural engineering at the time of application.
The ideal candidate will possess any/all of the following:
- Ability to work on multiple tasks
- Previous civil/structural/water resources internship experience
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D software
- Knowledge of structural Codes and Standards such as ASCE 7, ACI 318, ACI 350, AISC 360, etc.
- Knowledge of structural modeling software such as RISA 3D, SAP2000, etc.
- College-level civil/structural/water resources coursework
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Experience writing technical reports
