Family Assistant / After-School Nanny — El Paso

We are looking for a dependable, warm, organized family assistant to help care for our 10-year-old son and keep our household running smoothly.

This is not primarily a housekeeping position. The main focus will be providing responsible supervision and support for our son, assisting with his schedule and activities, and helping maintain an organized home. We may continue using a separate cleaning service for heavier cleaning.

Primary responsibilities:

• Picking up our son from school as needed
• Driving him to tutoring, activities, appointments, birthday parties and other events
• Providing responsible after-school and occasional evening supervision
• Helping him stay on schedule with homework, reading, activities and daily routines
• Preparing simple meals and snacks for him and occasionally preparing dinner for the family
• Grocery shopping and picking up household necessities
• Keeping his room, school materials, activity items and common areas organized
• Helping maintain the family calendar and reminding us of upcoming activities or needed items
• Light household tasks, such as tidying the kitchen, loading or unloading the dishwasher, folding laundry and putting items away
• Coordinating with our cleaning service when needed
• Running occasional family errands
• Caring for the home and dogs when the family is traveling, if available

The ideal candidate:

• Has experience working with school-aged children
• Is patient, dependable, nurturing and comfortable setting appropriate boundaries
• Is highly organized and able to take initiative
• Is comfortable helping a child with routines, homework and activities
• Is a confident driver with a clean driving record
• Has a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and current automobile insurance
• Is comfortable around dogs
• Can prepare basic, family-friendly meals
• Has strong references and can pass a background and driving-record check
• Is interested in a stable, long-term position with our family

Schedule:

Approximately 20–30 hours per week, primarily weekday afternoons and early evenings. Some flexibility for school holidays, occasional evenings, errands and transportation would be helpful.

Compensation:

Competitive hourly pay based on experience, qualifications and schedule flexibility. Vehicle will be provided.
