Job Summary
The Steward Supervisor oversees the stewarding team to ensure the cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of all kitchen and back-of-house areas. This role supports culinary operations by maintaining high standards for food safety, equipment care, and sanitation while leading, training, and motivating team members to deliver efficient and compliant operations.
Job Family Core Work Activities
• Supervise and support stewarding team members to ensure efficient cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen and service areas
• Monitor and maintain proper dishwashing operations, including water temperature, chemical levels, and equipment functionality
• Ensure all kitchen tools, equipment, and dishware are cleaned, sanitized, and stored according to health and safety standards
• Coordinate with culinary and banquet teams to support service needs, including transporting and stocking supplies and assisting with plate-ups
• Maintain cleanliness of dish rooms, storage areas, loading docks, and waste disposal areas in compliance with sanitation standards
• Enforce food safety, sanitation, and hazardous material handling procedures in accordance with company and regulatory guidelines
• Train, coach, and motivate team members, ensuring adherence to company standards and continuous performance improvement
• Assist management with scheduling, task delegation, and monitoring team performance to ensure operational efficiency
• Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, or sanitation issues and report accordingly
• Promote a safe work environment by ensuring proper use of equipment, PPE, and adherence to safety protocols
