Job Overview
MDC Data Centers is seeking an experienced Data Center Construction Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of mission-critical data center construction projects. This role is responsible for managing construction activities, coordinating project teams, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget while meeting strict operational and technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all phases of data center construction projects from pre-construction through commissioning and handover
- Manage project schedules, budgets, resources, and contractor performance
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, vendors, and stakeholders
- Monitor construction progress to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards
- Oversee installation of critical infrastructure systems, including power, cooling, networking, and security systems
- Conduct site inspections and enforce safety policies and regulatory compliance
- Review construction drawings, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to avoid delays and cost overruns
- Prepare regular progress reports and communicate project status to senior leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred
- 5 years of experience in construction management, with experience in data centers, mission-critical facilities, or large commercial projects preferred
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, MEP systems, and critical facility infrastructure
- Experience managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and project teams
- Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, Primavera P6, or Microsoft Project
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
