This approach guarantees not just efficient delivery but also unparalleled value and reliability in our transportation services.Position Summary:MDB Transportation is looking for a reliable and dependable full-time Port Dispatcher to be a point of communication between our truck drivers and dispatch.The ideal candidate needs at least 2 years prior dispatching experience within the Port of LA/Long Beach. The ideal candidate will have knowledge with all terminals, making terminal appts, routing drivers to correct terminal, coordinating deliveries, knowledge on per diem, demurrage and minimizing dry runs to terminals. Strong Knowledge of steamship lines and container yards. Requirements and Responsibilities:Schedule appointments for empty terminations and or import loads out when requested or missed loads.Dispatch work to drivers according to scheduled appointments.Make sure deliveries are on time and any issues/delays are reported to the customer.Prioritize calls/text according to urgency and importance.Monitor our GPS to route and know status of drivers to maximize our turnarounds.Update computer systems in a live manner with appropriate route or delivery status as well as in/out times.Add notes into TMW (dispatch system) for any delays, dry runs, yard stops, missed loads, missed empty in appointments or anything of that nature.Competencies: 2 years port drayage dispatching.Proficient in English and Spanish (oral and written).Knowledge with TMW dispatch system, Excel, Google Sheets, and other data-keeping programs.Organizational and multitasking abilities.Active listener with excellent communication skills.Possess knowledge of DOT regulations.Fast learner and adaptable to fast-paced environments.Great judgment skills.Pay: The pay depends on experience ($25.00 - $28.00/hours DOE) and will be discussed during an in-person interview.Benefits:Employer Paid Medical.Employer Paid Dental.Employer Paid Vision.Life Insurance.401(K).Employee Assistance Programs.Vacation pay.Sick pay.Excellent opportunity for career advancement.Employee events.About MDB Transportation:MDB Transportation was established in 2002, a small carrier with only ten trucks.
