Job Overview: We are looking for Electrical Engineering Manager - Electrical New Product Development & Sustainment for design & working as a leader experienced in managing both people and large, multi-dimensional projects within an organization that delivers leading-edge communications products. As a lead member of the multi-channel radio management team, you will be responsible for the electrical hardware management of one or more products in our portfolio. You will lead an engineering team through all aspects of electrical design, integration, testing, operations, and customer support.
Essential Functions:
- People Leadership: Manage a team of 7 electrical engineers and interns.
- Project Management: Create and maintain project schedules, track requirements, and manage project budgets.
- Technical Estimating: Create Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) and Basis of Estimate (BOE) for electrical tasks.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate project integration with Mechanical, Digital, RF, FPGA, DSP, and Embedded Firmware disciplines.
- Product Lifecycle: Support the introduction of new products into operations and participate in cost reduction and product improvement efforts.
- Risk Management: Make critical design decisions and assess technical risks based on schedule and budget constraints.
Basic Qualifications:
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree with 9 years of related experience OR Graduate Degree with 7 years of related experience OR 13 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
- Leadership: Minimum 2 years of experience in Engineering Project Management or leading engineering teams.
- Domain Expertise: Direct experience with New Product Development in an electrical engineering capacity (RF, Digital, or PWBA).
- Clearance: Ability to obtain a US security clearance (US Citizenship required for clearance).
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) and complex scheduling.
- Experience with Configuration Management tools (e.g., Agile).
- Proficiency with Requirements Management software (e.g., DOORS).
- Experience with DFX (Design for Manufacturing/Assembly) analysis.
- Knowledge of the INCOSE V product development model.
- Familiarity with test equipment such as Spectrum, Logic, and Signal Analyzers.
