Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil, environmental, mechanical, or chemical engineering, with hands-on experience in infrastructure planning and design. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of hydraulic systems, construction principles, and project execution. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Analyze project requirements and conduct alternative studies to prepare detailed technical reports for submittals.
- Interpret and utilize survey reports, maps, blueprints, aerial imagery, and topographic or geologic data to support project planning and design.
- Evaluate the performance of collection and distribution systems, identify current or potential deficiencies, and propose effective engineering solutions.
- Apply knowledge in hydraulic design, sewer rehabilitation, water and wastewater systems, pump station design, treatment processes, engineering economics, and technical documentation.
- Possess a sound understanding of general heavy construction principles; experience with environmental facility operations is a plus.
- Perform design computations and prepare engineering drawings using industry-standard software.
- Ensure project designs align with client specifications, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines.
- Develop and/or review detailed construction cost estimates.
- Prepare and compile contract plans, technical specifications, and cost estimates.
- Attend and participate in client meetings; assist in documenting meeting discussions and action items.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and understand how each discipline contributes to overall project success.
- Conduct quality reviews of project designs in compliance with the Project Management Plan.
- Provide technical oversight, mentorship, and support to junior engineers on the team.
- 5–10 years of professional engineering experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- Proficiency in engineering design tools including AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, ArcGIS, and MS Project.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Active Professional Engineering (PE) License.
- Experience working with local government agencies at the county and/or state level.
- Approximately 95% of work will be performed in a typical office environment—generally sedentary, with occasional standing or walking.
- Lighting and climate are adequate, with no hazardous or unpleasant office conditions.
- Occasional fieldwork is required and may involve working outdoors in varying weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, humid, or dry environments).
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs as needed.
Salary : $100,000 - $110,000
