Job Description – Shipping & Receiving Specialist (Supply Chain)
Position Overview
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Specialist to support our supply chain operations in an engine repair and teardown environment. This role is critical in managing the flow of parts and material receiving, storing, tracking, and distributing components needed for repairs while ensuring timely and accurate outbound shipments. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, knowledge of supply chain processes, and a commitment to accuracy and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the receipt of parts, materials, and supplies; verify shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Manage inventory placement, storage, and organization to ensure parts availability for repair and teardown projects.
- Pull, prepare, and issue parts based on pick tickets and work orders to support the shop floor.
- Process outbound shipments, ensuring accuracy, proper packaging, and compliance with carrier requirements.
- Maintain inventory records in the supply chain management system; assist with cycle counts and reconciliations.
- Work closely with repair/teardown teams to anticipate parts needs and prevent delays in operations.
- Identify and report any discrepancies, damages, or shortages in shipments.
- Tarp and Shrink wrap engines
- Collaborate with purchasing, operations, and quality teams to support continuous supply chain improvements.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized shipping and receiving area.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or certification in supply chain or logistics preferred.
- 2 years’ experience in shipping/receiving, warehouse, or supply chain operations (experience in automotive, aerospace, or industrial repair environments a plus).
- Strong understanding of inventory control, pick ticket systems, and shipping documentation.
- Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment (certification preferred).
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and ERP/supply chain software.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform warehouse tasks as needed.
