This is a full-time on-site role located in Plano, TX, for a Pathologists’ Assistant. The primary responsibilities include gross examination and dissection of surgical specimens. Additional duties may include proper specimen labeling, maintaining equipment and documentation for laboratory compliance, and ensuring smooth lab operations. The role is integral to maintaining efficiency and accuracy in the pathology department.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in surgical tissue dissection, specimen examination, and asssitance with frozen sections.
- Strong skills in medical documentation, specimen labeling, and dictation for gross descriptions.
- Experience in laboratory operations, including maintenance of equipment and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Ability to communicate clinical information clearly to medical professionals and maintain accuracy under time-sensitive conditions.
- No autopsies.
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Pathologists’ Assistant program or related field, with certification by ASCP or an equivalent accrediting organization preferred.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality requirements.
