Part-time Cashier (Midland)

Reports To: District Food Service Director  

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

GENERAL PURPOSE:  

The essential function of the position within the organization is to assist in maintaining a food service program at the school level by performing cashiering functions in an efficient and effective manner to meet the nutritional needs and program standards of students and staff in accordance with Federal, State and Local regulations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.

• Performs cashier duties by accurately charging student accounts through the POS system
• Assists in keeping POS desk organized and clean
• Acts in a positive and courteous manner toward students and staff
• Maintains high standards of sanitation and safety
• Understands, follows, and provides oral and written directions
• Prepares documentation of sales transactions for the purpose of providing written support and/or conveying information
• Serves a la carte food and beverage items for the purpose of meeting mandated nutritional requirements 
• Ensures all meals that are served meet the USDA meal pattern for the age/grade of the campus
• Support campus communication regarding Field Trip meals
• Support Child Nutrition department in validating meals served and meal  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum one year of cashiering experience, preferred
• Must be able to pass a background check
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate proficiently
• Must be able to operate a basic Windows system
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
