Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) – Nuclear Cardiology

Arizona | Part-Time & PRN | 2 Days Per Week

MD Office Solutions of Arizona (MDOS AZ) is expanding its nuclear cardiology team and seeking experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologists for part-time and PRN opportunities. We deliver mobile nuclear cardiology imaging services directly to physician offices, outpatient clinics, and hospitals across Arizona — bringing high-quality cardiac diagnostics where patients need them most.

Our NMTs work alongside MDOS Cardiac Stress Technicians (CSTs) and clinic staff in a collaborative, team-based environment. These positions are designed for technologists seeking consistent part-time work — approximately 2 days per week — with flexibility and professional variety.

Compensation

Starting at $37 per hour, with higher rates based on experience and role.

Employment Options

PRN / Per Diem

  • Approximately 1–2 days per pay period (biweekly)
  • May be assigned to consistent clinic locations
  • Ideal for experienced technologists seeking maximum schedule flexibility


Part-Time

  • Approximately 2 days per week (4 days per pay period)
  • Less than 30 hours per week
  • Consistent recurring schedule with a stable clinic assignment or mobile rotation


Pay periods are biweekly.

Position Overview

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs cardiac nuclear imaging procedures, prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals, and ensures high standards of patient care, radiation safety, and imaging quality. Technologists may support mobile imaging operations serving multiple clinic locations or may be assigned to consistent clinic sites depending on operational needs and employment status.

Daily Workflow

On scheduled days, technologists typically support outpatient cardiology clinic locations while working alongside a dedicated MDOS Cardiac Stress Technician (CST). Clinic schedules are generally heaviest Tuesday through Thursday. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform cardiac nuclear stress testing and imaging procedures
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals
  • Operate nuclear medicine imaging equipment
  • Maintain accurate patient documentation and imaging records
  • Follow radiation safety standards and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with Cardiac Stress Technicians and clinic staff
  • Ensure a safe and professional patient care environment

Qualifications

  • ARRT(N) or NMTCB certification
  • Active Arizona Nuclear Medicine Technologist License (or ability to obtain prior to start date)
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record to operate company fleet vehicles
  • Strong patient care and communication skills
  • Ability to travel to clinic locations when required

Education & Experience

  • Degree or certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology
  • 1 year of nuclear medicine imaging experience preferred, particularly cardiac imaging
  • Experience performing quality assurance on nuclear medicine equipment preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to assist patients and remain on your feet for extended periods
  • Ability to push or maneuver mobile medical equipment (up to 800 lbs)

Work Environment

Technologists provide services in physician offices, outpatient clinics, and hospital settings as part of MDOS AZ’s mobile imaging program. As with all healthcare roles, exposure to infectious diseases and radiation is possible. MDOS technologists follow strict radiation safety protocols, including use of personal radiation monitoring badges and protective equipment. Emergency response procedures may apply in the event of a radioactive spill.

Schedule

  • 8 hour shifts
  • Day shift
  • Primarily Monday – Friday, approximately 2 days per week
  • Overtime may apply
