Join our growing healthcare team as an Administrative Support / Surgery Scheduling Assistant. In this role, you'll help ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of our practice by coordinating appointments, managing medical records, and providing administrative support to our clinical team. Key Responsibilities
- Schedule patient appointments and coordinate with providers, patients, hospitals, surgery centers, and insurance providers as needed.
- Verify insurance eligibility and obtain prior authorizations, including Medicare and commercial insurance plans.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) using eClinicalWorks.
- Review patient documentation for completeness and accuracy, including CPT and ICD-10 coding when applicable.
- Support billing processes by collecting patient payments and assisting with insurance-related documentation.
- Answer multi-line phones professionally, respond to patient inquiries, and provide exceptional customer service.
- Manage front office responsibilities, including patient check-in, appointment scheduling, reminders, and follow-up communication.
- Maintain organized medical records while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards.
- Assist with general administrative duties to support efficient daily office operations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a medical office, healthcare administration, scheduling, or a customer service role is preferred but not required. We welcome candidates who are eager to learn and grow.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and general computer applications.
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time management skills with strong attention to detail.
- Outstanding communication and customer service skills with professional phone etiquette.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred.
