In this role, you’ll be a key part of ensuring prescriptions and patient needs are handled accurately, efficiently, and with care.If you enjoy a fast-paced environment, love staying organized, and thrive on helping patients and your team, we’d love to meet you.Key ResponsibilitiesOrder & Inventory IntakeCheck in daily medication and supply orders accurately and promptly.Verify shipment contents against packing slips and purchase orders.Flag discrepancies, damages, or shortages and route to the appropriate team member.Organize stock and maintain clean, compliant storage areas.Shipping & Fulfillment SupportPrepare prescription orders for shipment, including labeling, packing, and staging.Track shipments and assist with resolving delivery issues.Maintain shipping logs and required documentation.Phone & Patient SupportAnswer incoming calls in a professional, friendly manner.Triage patient concerns and route requests to pharmacists or clinical staff as needed.Gather and document patient information accurately.Provide status updates on orders, shipping, and general pharmacy processes within scope.Administrative & FilingFile prescriptions, patient records, shipping documents, and inventory paperwork per policy.Maintain electronic and paper documentation in compliance with state/federal regulations and HIPAA.Support general clerical tasks to keep workflow smooth and organized.Team & Workflow SupportCommunicate clearly with pharmacists, providers, and support teams.Assist with other technician duties as needed, depending on workload and training.QualificationsRequiredHigh school diploma or GED.Active Pharmacy Technician registration in Wisconsin, or ability to obtain prior to onboarding.Strong attention to detail and comfort with repetitive accuracy-based tasks.Excellent phone etiquette and patient/customer service skills.Ability to prioritize tasks, stay organized, and work efficiently in a busy setting.Basic computer skills and comfort navigating pharmacy systems.Preferred1 year of pharmacy technician experience (retail, specialty, mail-order, hospital, or clinic).PTCB or ExCPT certification.Experience with shipping workflows, inventory intake, or medical order processing.Skills & Attributes We ValueCalm, professional communication — especially with patients.Reliable follow-through and punctuality.Ability to multitask without losing accuracy.Comfort working with protected health information (HIPAA-compliant mindset).Team-first attitude and willingness to jump in where needed.Company DescriptionMD Custom Rx is an independent, family owned, Milwaukee area compounding pharmacy that differs from traditional pharmacies in that we do not dispense commercially manufactured pharmaceuticals. At MD Custom Rx, all prescriptions are custom-made for patients based on physician orders. The pharmacy is stocked with raw pharmaceutical grade ingredients used in the preparation of medications for medical conditions, skin conditions, dental treatments, veterinary medicine and pediatric care. Unique equipment such as an ointment mill, powder blender, electronic balance, encapsulation machine, powder containment hood, and incubators are used by Monica Zatarski, PharmD and our professional staff to prepare custom prescriptions.
