Well-established Tacoma-based commercial/industrial electrical contractor looking for experienced Electrical Estimator / Project Manager. Portfolio of work predominantly consists of federal and other government/municipal projects and heavy industrial construction. Seeking an Electrical Estimator wanting to establish themselves with an actively growing company. Position will be based out of our office in Tacoma, WA.
DUTIES & SCOPE
Research, develop, maintain, and track project bids from inception through hand-off to project management team.
Develop complete, professional, and accurate scope letters.
Vet and Execute Bids/Estimates from various and established bid platforms.
Some travel for pre-bid site walks and ongoing project inspections.
Monitor and Maintain Accubid Estimating Software Databases.
Assist with project hand-offs, including developing and communicating an overall work plan as-bid.
Vet and negotiate vendor and subcontractor packages.
Job Cost Tracking & Projections.
Monthly WIP Reporting.
Project Submittals, RFIs, Manpower Scheduling, Progressive Billings.
Develop and submit project change order requests.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 5 years of verifiable estimating experience in electrical construction.
Experience with and knowledge of Accubid Pro & LiveCount Estimating Systems (Trimble).
Electrical Construction Experience: 5 years
Extensive knowledge and experience with project drawings, scheduling, bids, submittals, specifications, and contracts.
Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written.
Understanding of both engineered and schematic design, and ability to develop take-offs and estimates from both engineered drawings and/or schematic design drawings with a design narrative
Understanding of construction CPM schedules
Ability to perform preliminary load, raceway, and wire size calculations as necessary
Preliminary understanding of lighting design, particularly lighting controls which may be bidder (vendor)-designed.
Preliminary understanding of Low Voltage systems (Fire Alarm, Security, Data/Comm), which may be bidder (vendor)-designed.
Strong understanding of currently adopted NEC
Technical proficiency with Bluebeam
Technical proficiency with Google Sheets and similar shared programs.
Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) and pdf software (Adobe / Bluebeam).
Detail-oriented with demonstrated excellent organizational skills
