Duties
- Provide peer-led support, mentorship, and advocacy to individuals navigating mental health and addiction recovery
- Utilize crisis intervention and crisis management techniques to de-escalate situations and ensure safety
- Employ motivational interviewing and harm reduction strategies to motivate clients toward positive change
- Collaborate with behavioral health professionals to develop personalized recovery plans
- Document interactions accurately within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, maintaining confidentiality and compliance
- Assist clients in developing coping skills, relapse prevention strategies, and social support networks
- Support clients with co-occurring disorders by integrating behavioral health and addiction counseling approaches
Qualifications
- Valid certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist or equivalent credential
- Lived experience with mental health conditions or substance use recovery, demonstrating resilience and insight
- Strong skills in crisis intervention, crisis management, and behavioral health support
- Knowledge of addiction counseling, harm reduction principles, and motivational interviewing techniques
- Experience working with individuals with co-occurring disorders or mental health conditions is preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for documentation purposes
