Postdoctoral Fellow - Leukemia - Research

MD Anderson
Houston, TX Other
POSTED ON 11/26/2025
AVAILABLE BEFORE 1/25/2026

A postdoctoral fellow position is available in the Section of Molecular Hematology & Therapy, Department of Leukemia at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center under the mentorship of Michael Andreeff, MD, Ph.D.

We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative individual with advanced clinical experience in hematologic malignancies and technical expertise in cell, molecular, or cancer biology to lead a project focused on developing new analytical modalities for identifying novel vulnerabilities and creating hypothesis-driven, mechanism-based molecular targeting strategies for drug-resistant leukemias.

The postdoctoral fellow will conduct research on cell death and cell survival pathways, as well as mechanisms of drug resistance in myeloid leukemia stem cells, through a combinatorial study using molecular biology methodologies. These include gene editing, mutation detection, gene and protein expression analysis, chromatin accessibility profiling, and evaluation of responses to drug treatments in both in vitro and in vivo leukemia cell systems. The goal is to broaden understanding of cell death regulators, signaling pathways, and leukemia microenvironmental factors, clarify their roles in drug resistance, and develop a mechanism-based approach to overcome therapeutic resistance.

All duties and responsibilities are carried out in compliance with institutional policies, ethical research standards, and applicable federal and state regulations.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
