What are the responsibilities and job description for the Postdoctoral Fellow - Pulmonary Medicine position at MD Anderson Cancer Center?
Conducting retrospective cohort studies and small prospective translational studies in the field of drug-induced pneumonitis in the Department of Pulmonary Medicine at MD Anderson Cancer Center under the mentorship of Dr. Sheshadri and co-mentorship under Dr. Mehmet Altan from Thoracic Head and Neck Medical Oncology.
Essential Job Functions
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
The postdoctoral fellow will lead 3-4 retrospective studies in the areas of drug-induced pneumonitis. The postdoctoral fellow will develop predictive models for drug-induced pneumonitis, synthesize radiomic datasets with clinical datasets, and conduct novel explorations of the role of subtle interstitial lung diseases on the risk for drug-induced lung disease.

MD Anderson offers full-time postdoc positions with a salary ranging from $64,000 to $76,000. depending on the number of years of postgraduate experience. Essential Job Functions
- Maintain databases of patients receiving drug-induced pneumonitis, including regular queries and quality control checks
- Create master data files to be used for data analysis
- Respond to statistical queries for data clarification or abstraction
- Prepare draft manuscripts for key projects
- Interface with radiomic collaborators to combine clinical variable with radiomic features
- Review clinical images and assist in clinical adjudication meetings
- Read literature relevant to immune checkpoint inhibitor pneumonitis
- Communicate freely and clearly and confer with superiors for new projects
- Analyze data, prepare graphs and figures, and help in writing and submitting manuscripts.
- Presents data in formal departmental conferences
- Present data in monthly meetings with pneumonitis collaborators
- Present data in national and international meetings in form of poster or podium talk.
