The Breast, Gyn, and GU Radiation Oncology clinics provide specialized ambulatory care services to patients undergoing radiation therapy. These multidisciplinary teams focus on delivering high-quality, compassionate care tailored to the unique needs of each patient, while supporting clinical operations and ensuring a safe, efficient environment.

Medical Assistant - Float Position

The Medical Assistant supports patient care and clinic operations across Breast, Gyn, and GU Radiation Oncology clinics. This role assists nursing staff and physicians with routine patient services and ensures a clean, organized, and compliant clinical environment. The Medical Assistant collaborates with the healthcare team to address patient needs and contributes to a positive patient experience through effective communication and superior customer service.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate has at least two years of experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory care setting and demonstrates proficiency in EPIC. They are skilled in patient interaction, vital sign collection, and clinic documentation. Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills are essential. Candidates should be adaptable, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining a safe and supportive environment for patients and colleagues.

Shift Details

This float position covers Breast, Gyn, and GU Radiation Oncology clinics. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with no overtime.

Hourly breakdown of salary range: Minimum $20.67 - Midpoint $25.96 - Maximum $31.25

Job Description

  • Completes clinic assignments as delegated by nursing staff.
  • Collects patient information during visits, including vital signs, height, and weight.
  • Assists with form completion such as FMLA and disability documentation.
  • Maintains a safe and clean clinic environment.
  • Ensures supplies are properly stored, labeled, and within expiration dates.
  • Communicates openly and professionally with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to address patient care needs.
  • Reports changes in patient status to appropriate staff.
  • Resolves conflicts professionally and provides timely feedback.
  • Demonstrates superior customer service in all interactions.

EDUCATION

  • Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Preferred: Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program or US Military medical services training program.

Work Experience

  • Required: One year Medical assistant experience. or
  • Required: With preferred education no experience is required.
  • Preferred: Two years of Medical Assistant experience.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • Preferred: CMA - Certified Medical Asst American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA). Upon Hire
  • Preferred: RMA - Reg Medical Assistant American Society of Medical Technologists (AMT). Upon Hire
  • Preferred: CCMA - Cert Clinical Medical Asst National Healthcareer Association (NHA). Upon Hire
  • Preferred: National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)-NCTT National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT). Upon Hire
  • Preferred: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Upon Hire
