Join our team at MD Anderson Cancer Center as a Clinical Nurse in the Radiation Therapeutic Nursing department, specializing in Genitourinary (GU) care. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate nurse with a strong background in direct patient care and a passion for excellence in outpatient oncology nursing.

In this role, you will provide expert nursing care to patients undergoing radiation therapy for GU-related conditions. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will perform patient assessments, administer treatments, provide education, and coordinate care to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have Ambulatory Nursing experience. Radiation Nursing and EPIC experience are a plus.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., with weekend and evening shifts

Essential Job Functions Summary

  • Assess patients' needs using clinical skills and analytical abilities to provide high-quality nursing care.
  • Manage and deliver patient care in the assigned area, ensuring effective planning and evaluation of outcomes in collaboration with physicians, other services, and the patient's family.
  • Integrate age-specific care needs and oncology principles into patient care while aligning with institutional goals and professional standards.
  • Demonstrate clinical competency and compassion in administering medications, performing procedures, and managing emergencies.
  • Ensure continuity of care through discharge planning, patient education, and coordination of services.
  • Act as a patient and family advocate, ensuring patient rights are upheld.
  • Train, coach, and support team members to optimize patient care and resource use.
  • Participate in data collection and integrate research findings to improve clinical practice.

Education

Required: Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.

Experience

One year of Clinical Nurse experience

Certification/Licensure

Required: All clinical nurses with less than one year registered nurse (RN) work experience will be required to participate in the Clinical Nurse Residency Program. Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license (RN). Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification if working in the following department: Nrsg Post Anesthesia Care Unit (600160).
