Weekend Shift Position
We are seeking a skilled machine shop welder to work on our weekend shift, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 5:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
The starting rate of pay is $25.29 per hour, and health insurance is available after 60 days of employment.
This position involves working in a machine shop weld booth, where the primary responsibilities will be to perform minor repairs on valves and hydrants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspection of Valves and Hydrants: Conduct thorough inspections of valves and hydrants to identify areas that require repair or maintenance.
- Preparation for Repair: Use hoists to move objects to the weld booth, prepare the valve or hydrant for cutting or welding, and ensure a safe working environment.
- Welding and Cutting: Perform welding or cutting jobs to correct imperfections and defects in valves and hydrants.
- Grinding and Cleaning: Grind the weld area and clean up the surrounding area to ensure a smooth finish.
- Palletization and Forklift Driving: Use a hoist to palletize the repaired part and drive a forklift as needed to transport materials and equipment.
Requirements:
- Lifting and Carrying: Lift and carry less than 50 pounds with ease.
- Standing and Walking: Stand for more than 6 hours per day and walk safely in a manufacturing environment.
- Temperature Tolerance: Work in extreme temperature conditions without compromise.
- Machinery Awareness: Understand and respect the operation of machinery and tools in the machine shop.
- Hand Tool Proficiency: Use hand tools effectively and efficiently to complete tasks.
- Manufacturing Experience: Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is highly valued.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wear PPE, including earplugs, safety glasses, metatarsal boots, and guarded footwear, to ensure a safe working environment.
