Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in planning and executing engaging Montessori lessons that promote literacy education, math skills, and social-emotional development.
- Support classroom management by maintaining a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for children of various ages, including toddlers and preschoolers.
- Work closely with children to foster independence, positive behavior management, and effective communication skills through individualized attention and group activities.
- Help facilitate activities that support working with children with disabilities or special needs, including those with autism or other developmental challenges.
- Assist in documenting children's progress, behavior patterns, and developmental milestones to inform curriculum development and parent communication.
- Support classroom routines such as meal times, nap times, and transitions to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Collaborate with team members on curriculum development that aligns with early childhood education standards and Montessori principles.
Experience
- Prior classroom experience working with young children in daycare or preschool settings is highly preferred.
- Experience with Montessori teaching methods or coursework related to early childhood education is advantageous.
- Familiarity with special education practices, behavior management strategies, and working with individuals with disabilities or autism is beneficial.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members in a professional manner.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices for working with toddlers and preschool-aged children.
- Previous experience supporting literacy education, math activities, or curriculum development within an early childhood setting is a plus.
