We are looking to add a Survey Drafter to our team to help manage our growing business across Ohio. We are looking to employ a motivated individual who is self-starting and wants to be a part of building the best drafting team in the Surveying industry. This is a hybrid role based out of our Wickliffe, Ohio office. Hours are Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm EST.
No experience is necessary! We have an in house training program to train from scratch.
Rate of pay for new hires with no drafting experience is $17/hr. Higher rates available with previous drafting experience.
This role is responsible for producing accurate and detailed drawings and survey documents for various land surveying projects. You will be working with our team of surveying professionals who are both dedicated and appreciated. We pride ourselves on the quality of our work from our survey crews to our drafters, our processing department to our sales staff we recognize and appreciate our staff's professionalism.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Draft Survey plans and drawings based on field survey data, boundary records, and project specifications.
- Uses computer-aided drafting (CAD) software to create and modify survey maps, topographical maps, legal descriptions, and other technical drawings.
- Verify and cross-reference survey data for consistency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to clarify project objectives and requirements and resolve any issues that arise.
- Ensure that all drafts comply with industry standards, local regulations, and project requirements.
- Assist in the organization and maintenance of survey records, documents, and project files.
- Communicate and coordinate effectively with internal departments as necessary.
- Pulling or requesting additional research when necessary.
- Submitting work directly to the project manager for final review.
- Stay current with advances in drafting and surveying technologies and tools to improve efficiency and accuracy in drafting processes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Works well in teams

- Strong math/computational skills
- CAD software and other architectural drafting tools experience is not required but preferred.
- Interest in surveying/drafting
- Ability to comprehend and interpret survey information, field crew sketches, county information, etc.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Three years of related experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
