Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Service Manager to lead our service department. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. As a Service Manager, you will oversee daily operations, manage service technicians, and ensure that all automotive repairs and maintenance services are performed efficiently and to the highest standards.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of service technicians in the shop.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of repairs, including Winterization, Spring Commissioning and detailing.
- Utilize diagnostics tools to assess boat and engine issues and provide solutions.
- Write detailed service reports and estimates for customers, ensuring clarity in communication.
- Upsell additional services and products based on customer needs and vehicle condition.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
- Train and mentor service technicians on best practices, new technologies, and customer service skills.
- Collaborate with sales teams to align service offerings with customer expectations.
Requirements
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in marine repair.
- Proficiency in marine diagnostics,electrical issues, annual maintainence procedures, and service writing.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to upsell services effectively.
- Experience in marine estimating is preferred.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team of service technicians.
- A customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
