What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head of North America LBM Solutions position at MCS Group - USA | Your Specialist Recruitment Firm?
Role: Head of North American LBM Solutions
Position Type: Full-Time, Individual Contributor with Massive Enterprise Influence
Sector: Enterprise Cloud ERP / Lumber & Building Materials (LBM)
Remote: EST/CST
No sponsorship available. Full US working rights needed
The Opportunity
Are you a senior ERP solutions expert who thrives on solving complex, real-world industry problems? Are you looking for a high-impact, hands-on role where your voice actually shapes the product?
On behalf of my client, a rapidly growing, global cloud ERP software provider deeply embedded in the Lumber and Building Materials (LBM) sector, I am headhunting for a Head of North American LBM Solutions. This individual will serve as their ultimate market authority in the US.
A Note on the Title: Don't let the word "Head" mislead you. This is not a hands-off, spreadsheet-gazing director role. My client is looking for an established, senior-level individual contributor who is already operating at a high level of influence and direction. If you want to keep your hands on the technology, own complex solution designs and act as the definitive bridge between US clients and software engineering, this is a seamless transition for an established expert looking for true impact.
Why This Role is Different
Unlike typical product positions tied down by rigid roadmap cycles, this role is strategically housed within my client's Professional Services and Project Delivery organization.
What Does That Mean For You?
- You deal in reality, not theory: Your focus is entirely on driving immediate customer outcomes, de-risking major US implementations and tackling real operational friction points.
- Unprecedented Authority: You will be the "voice of the US market". When you identify a missing capability or an operational gap, their internal product and development teams are fully accountable for responding to your directives. The organizational default mandate is "How do we achieve this?" rather than "Why can't it be done?".
What You'll Be Doing Day-to-Day
- Strategic Solution Architecture: Provide high-level technical and operational oversight across active, work-in-progress North American implementation projects.
- Bridge Business & Tech: Translate intricate, granular US merchant workflows (from inventory and pricing to complex, bespoke millwork/showroom order entries) into technical specifications and test scripts.
- Influence Without Hierarchy: Use your industry credibility to challenge software designs, pressure internal product teams to eliminate usability friction and drive deliverables across the finish line.
- Be the Trusted Advisor: Act as the elite industry expert in customer workshops, steering committees and internal enablement sessions.
What My Client Is Looking For
They need someone who doesn't need a rule book. When standard software hits a wall, you have the vision and technical toolkit to figure out a solution from scratch.
- Industry Tenure: 10 years of deep operational or technical experience within the US LBM industry or specialized ERP landscape. LBM experience is a must have.
- The "Dual Perspective": Ideally, you have experienced life on both sides of the coin. Something like working inside the IT/Operations department of a building materials merchant and working for an ERP software vendor.
- Technical Toolkit: Solid software configuration skills, strong familiarity with cloud-based ERP architecture, and a solid understanding of integrations via EDI and REST APIs. Development or database administration (DBA) experience is highly valued.
- Granular Knowledge: You can speak fluently about the unique transactional, pricing and shipping pain points that US dealers face when managing multi-vendor, bespoke client orders.
What's in It for You?
My client believes in aligning their environment and progression paths with your personal and professional development. Alongside a competitive compensation package, they offer a great range of benefits, including:
- Comprehensive Healthcare (Medical, Dental, and Vision)
- 401K Plan & AD&D Insurance
- Short & Long-Term Disability
- Wellness Reimbursement: Fully supporting active lifestyles (from gym to golf club memberships).
- Generous Time Off: 20 days of standard PTO plus 8 observed holidays and 2 floating holidays.
- True work-life balance through autonomous, flexible remote working.
My client is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity at their company.
