McRae's U.S. Mail Service, Inc. has proudly provided transportation services for the United States Postal Service since 1987. As one of the largest USPS transportation contractors in Wisconsin and Minnesota, we continue to expand our operations while investing in the people and resources that support our employees.

Following significant company growth, we are expanding our administrative team by adding an experienced Human Resources Generalist. This position is an addition to our growing organization and will help support our continued growth while providing exceptional service to our employees and leadership team.

Recruiting and payroll are managed by dedicated team members, allowing this position to focus on Human Resources.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on Human Resources policies and procedures.
• Review driver qualification files and employment documentation to ensure compliance with company policies, DOT regulations, USPS contract requirements, and customer expectations.
• Clear applicants for employment through the hiring process using Tenstreet.
• Manage employee relations, including coaching, disciplinary documentation, performance discussions, and workplace investigations.
• Administer FMLA, ADA accommodations, and other protected leaves.
• Coordinate employee benefits administration and respond to employee benefit questions.
• Manage unemployment claims, documentation, and hearings.
• Partner with the Safety Department to support workers' compensation administration, employee communication, and return-to-work coordination.
• Maintain personnel files and ensure accurate employee records.
• Review, update, and maintain the employee handbook, HR policies, and related documentation.
• Assist with policy interpretation and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (Minnesota & Wisconsin)

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of Human Resources experience required.
• Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred, but not required.
• Strong knowledge of employee relations, disciplinary procedures, FMLA, ADA, unemployment, and employment law.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
• Experience using Tenstreet is preferred.
• Experience in the transportation or logistics industry is a plus.
• SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar HR certification is a plus.

Pay: $65,000–$85,000 per year, based on experience.
