What are the responsibilities and job description for the Farmworkers Laborers Crop position at McQuesten Farm?
Workers are expected to perform all activities related to cultural practices involved with the production of vegetables, tree fruit, small berries and greenhouse work. Job duties of greenhouse work would be: being able to lift heavy bags of soil, boxes of pots, flats and 4” pots, water plants, lift and be able to keep arms over head to hang plants, be able to stand for long periods of time not moving around much, be able to lift and move plants, be able to adapt from cold outdoor temps to 8o degrees in the greenhouse. Be able to re-cover greenhouses, withstand heights, and pull heavy plastic operation, care and maintenance is essential for the equipment used for this purpose. Work is often required in extremely hot and cold conditions. Work is physically challenging requiring workers to bend, stoop, lift and carry up to 70 pounds. Ladder work is an essential skill. 30 days experience in duties listed is required.
