What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adjunct Faculty - Nursing Tutor position at MCPHS?
The Adjunct Nursing Mentor/Tutor provides academic support to undergraduate students within the School of Nursing under the direction of the nursing faculty of the Worcester campus, and tutors students on an as-needed basis. Tutoring appointments will be coordinated between both the student and the tutor to best accommodate schedules. Estimated work hours will be six to ten hours per week.
- Work collaboratively with course faculty to share information regarding individual student success
- Serve as a role model and motivate students to perform well in Nursing courses and disciplines
- Attend any required tutor trainings or meetings
- Complete tutoring reports
- Monitor students’ progress and communicate with course faculty regarding student progress or concerns
- With support of the clinical agency may allow students to shadow them during their clinical work
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications:
Required:
- Licensed as Registered Nurse with two to five years of nursing experience
- Ability to work well with students, faculty, staff and the community
- Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule
