What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adjunct Faculty - Chemistry position at MCPHS?
The School of Arts and Sciences seeks adjunct faculty to teach chemistry lab courses for the upcoming Fall 2026 semester. Labs include first-year college chemistry for pre-med/health science majors and allied health majors, and second-year organic chemistry for pre-med/pre-pharmacy majors.
- Delivers instruction in 3-hour laboratory sections
- Comes prepared to teach, including reviewing background lecture material, lab protocols, class worksheets, instructor notes, lecture videos, etc.
- Attends required pre-lab staff meetings, either in-person or via Zoom/Teams
- Grades assignments in a timely manner
- Communicates with course/lab coordinators in a professional and timely manner in preparation for teaching and grading
- Replies to emails from students, course/lab coordinators, and administrators in a timely manner
- Uses the University’s learning management system to enter grades.
- Assists students through office hours or scheduled appointments, by Zoom/Teams, phone or email, and through other University-approved mechanisms
