Overview
Well established Glens Falls, New York based Law Firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience, be proficient in conducting research and possess strong writing skills in drafting documents including initial pleadings, motions and trial filings. General litigation, real property litigation, business litigation and estate litigation experience is a plus. The firm promotes growth and teamwork. Benefits include health insurance, 401k and profit sharing. Salary commensurate with candidate's experience.
Responsibilities
- Represent clients in litigation matters across various practice areas.
- Conduct thorough legal research utilizing resources such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case strategies.
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs with precision and clarity.
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients while advocating for their best interests.
- Prepare for trials by organizing evidence, developing case strategies, and collaborating with other attorneys and legal staff.
- Provide clients with clear guidance on their legal rights and options throughout the litigation process.
- Maintain accurate records of all case-related activities within the law office.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the state bar and active license to practice law.
- Excellent writing skills with a focus on legal drafting and documentation.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to advocate effectively for clients.
- Proficient in conducting legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw.
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
