- Coordinate with Patient Financial Services and Registration teams to perform general financial counseling, registration functions, scheduling, and routing inbound calls to the appropriate areas.
- Document all required paperwork needed to qualify for financial assistance, payment plans, or presumptive eligibility.
- Coordinate with Patient Access Manager and Leads to develop and maintain day-to-day workflows within the Patient Access team.
- Develop and maintain an excellent working relationship with physicians, nursing, supportive departments, manager, clinic, and nursing directors.
- The patient access coordinator must have the ability to professionally ask patients for payments, overcome objections, accurately count money, and balance payments daily.
- Attend all educational, training, and regulatory meetings as designated by Patient Access Manager or McPherson Center for Health.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Communication - communicates clearly and concisely to keep Patient Access Manager informed.

- Completion of HealthStream educations by designated due date.
- Model positive and professional interactions between staff, leadership, providers, patients, and visitors.
- Read and respond to departmental emails and interdepartmental communications on or before your following shift by the close of business
- Follow all hospital and departmental policies and procedures, including donning and doffing of appropriate PPE in your workspace.
- Understand and strictly adhere to HIPAA. Promote a HIPAA compliant campus 100% of the time.
- Must maintain a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the mission, vision, goals, and values of McPherson Center for Health.
- Must communicate time off requests by deadlines outlined by your supervisor.

Education/Licensure/Certifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Leadership experience preferred
- Certified Application Counselor (CAC) for insurance certification preferred
- 1-2 years satisfactory clerical, scheduling, and/or financial counseling experience.
- Ability to commute/ relocate if needed.
- Capability to sit and work with a computer for extended periods of time.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools and operating a multi-line phone system.
