Together, we are a leading Midwest provider of concrete pipe, precast products, storage systems, and ready-mix concrete. MCC is seeking a Drafter to join our team in Wichita, KS or McPherson, KS

Position Summary

The Drafter is responsible for creating accurate 2D and 3D CAD models and production drawings for concrete components based on engineered plans, drawings, specifications, and MCC production requirements. This position works closely with engineers, other drafters, and internal personnel to develop and revise drawings, prepare project submittals, and support the production of quality concrete products.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, comfortable working with technical drawings and CAD software, and able to manage multiple projects while meeting established deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and revise 2D and 3D CAD models and production drawings for concrete components.
• Prepare production drawings from engineered plans, specifications, and project documentation.
• Work with engineers, drafters, and other internal personnel to develop accurate and efficient drawings.
• Review engineering drawings and specifications for accuracy, completeness, and project requirements.
• Identify and communicate drafting, detailing, or technical issues to the appropriate project manager, engineer, or supervisor.
• Make revisions to drawings based on engineering changes, project requirements, and approved comments.
• Assist with the preparation and completion of project submittals.
• Maintain accurate and organized electronic drawing files and project documentation.
• Assist with identifying materials, hardware, and other items required for production.
• Follow established drafting standards, procedures, and best practices.
• Identify opportunities to improve drafting accuracy, efficiency, and quality.

Required

• Associate degree in Drafting, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Previous drafting experience preferred, particularly in precast concrete, construction, structural, civil, or a related industry.
• Proficiency with CAD software; experience with SolidWorks, Titan, Revit, or similar design software preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, plans, specifications, and technical documents.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with engineers, drafters, project managers, and other team members.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet established deadlines.
