What are the responsibilities and job description for the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner position at McNulty Counseling and Wellness?
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) | St. Petersburg | $120/hr
McNulty Counseling and Wellness is a therapist-owned, family-owned group practice with four offices across the Tampa Bay Area — and we're looking for a confident, experienced PMHNP to join our St. Petersburg team.
This isn't a role where you're figuring it out as you go. We're looking for someone who has already found their clinical footing and wants a practice that supports them — not one that micromanages them. You'll have genuine autonomy, a collaborative team of therapists to work alongside, and a dedicated marketing team that builds your caseload with clients who actually need you.
The Role
This is a hybrid position starting part-time (minimum 15 hours of availability) with a clear path to full-time as your schedule fills. In-person days are at one of our two St. Petersburg offices — Downtown or Central St. Pete — with remaining days available from home.
You'll provide outpatient psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing care coordination in close collaboration with our clinical team. We practice integrated care here — you won't be operating in a silo.
Compensation: $120 per completed hour. A 30-minute follow-up = $60. A 60-minute evaluation = $120. Straightforward, no ambiguity.
What You'll Do
- Conduct psychiatric assessments and manage ongoing medication for outpatient clients
- Diagnose mental health conditions and develop individualized treatment plans within scope
- Provide medication education, informed consent, and psychoeducation to clients and families
- Monitor treatment outcomes, side effects, and medication adherence
- Collaborate with therapists and clinical staff to support integrated care
- Consult with collaborating psychiatrist when clinically indicated
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in compliance with HIPAA, Florida statutes, and organizational protocols
What We Offer
- $120/hr for all completed clinical hours — clear, competitive, no games
- Hybrid schedule — in-person 1–2 days/week at either St. Pete office; remaining days from home
- Part-time to full-time pathway — start at 15 hours of availability and grow from there
- Dedicated admin team handling scheduling, billing, and client coordination so you can stay focused on care
- In-house marketing team that positions you as an expert in psychiatric medicine and maximizes your directory exposure
- A collaborative, multidisciplinary team of 25 clinicians across four offices
- A culture that takes provider sustainability seriously — not just client outcomes
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted Florida APRN and RN licenses
- Board certification as a PMHNP (ANCC)
- DEA registration in good standing
- Collaborative or supervisory agreement in place per Florida law
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a practicing PMHNP — this role is designed for a clinician who is confident and independent in their practice
- Outpatient psychiatric experience preferred; multidisciplinary behavioral health experience strongly valued
