Job Summary
Join our Family horse farm team as a skilled Equipment and Animal Care Specialist! In this vital role, you will handle large farm equipment, assist with horse care, and contribute to the smooth operation of our outdoor agricultural environment. Your hands-on experience with machinery, animal husbandry, and safety standards will ensure a safe, efficient, and caring atmosphere for both our horses and farm operations. Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as tractors, Zero-Turn Mower and other farm machinery safely and efficiently
- Assist with the daily care of horses, including feeding, and general health monitoring
- Perform routine maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting on agricultural machinery and equipment
- Handle manual tasks involving heavy lifting, animal handling, and equipment setup or breakdown
- Conduct inspections of farm infrastructure including irrigation systems, fencing, and animal enclosures
- Follow safety standards in all aspects of farm work to ensure a secure environment for staff and animals
- Support general farm activities such as planting, harvesting, or greenhouse work as needed
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy machinery such as forklifts and farm equipment
- Hands-on knowledge of horse care and animal husbandry practices
- Mechanical skills including equipment repair, welding, and basic maintenance tasks
- Familiarity with farming operations, agriculture practices, and irrigation systems
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely and efficiently in outdoor conditions
- Prior supervising experience is a plus for team coordination roles
- Strong understanding of safety standards in agricultural or production environments
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions with outdoor work experience preferred
