The Machine Operator I is responsible for operating various machines to manufacture products from start (roll of paper) to finished product (sealed bag made to specific size tolerance and specifications):
- Ensures that Manufacturing Order (MO) schedule is being followed
- Responsible for accurate production reporting
- Responsible for components in visual workspace
- Ensures that materials and tools are identified and staged ahead of schedule.
- Completes change overs with team members to change from one Manufacturing Order (MOs) to the next to keep in accordance with scheduling needs and changes.
- Operates and monitors the machines in accordance with established procedures and checks for proper web tracking, ink circulation, machine operations, and other irregularities.
- Organizes work area in a clean and efficient manner to perform processes according to established standards, productivity levels, housekeeping, and safety requirements outlined in Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs).
- Works with press attendant and material handlers to order and maintain inventory control of inks, glues, and other raw materials as required.
- Informs supervisor of operating deviations or mechanical problems when they occur. Proposes machine modification and upgrades to improve production and quality of products.
- Performs all operations in a safe manner in accordance with OSHA laws, company policies, and Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs), while maintaining a consistent production measure in accordance with all work instructions and manufacturing orders (MO).
- Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor and management staff.
This is a 2nd Shift position scheduled Monday through Friday from 3:00pm - 11:00pm
What it takes to be successful in this role:
- Prior experience working in an industrial environment (ex: manufacturing, warehousing, distribution) strongly preferred
- Able to read and write; able to understand policies, manufacturing orders (MOs), Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs), and other work instructions. Basic math and computer skills.
- Able to effectively communicate for collaboration of work and delivery of supplies to and from machine as needed.
- Excellent mechanical ability and manual dexterity. Must be able to work standing or walking most of the workday and able to frequently lift 45 pounds. Able to work with sharp tools and wear hearing protection as required. High visual effort will be required to ensure print appearance and ink color match.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
- Must be comfortable working in a non-temperature-controlled environment
- Must be able to pull, push, lift, move, and adjust products up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to engage in periods of long standing, walking, and consistent lifting
- Hearing protection and steel toed shoes are required
- Safety, hygiene and cleanliness is strictly enforced

Compensation Range
The range for this position is $18.00 - 19.00/hour with an additional shift differential of $0.75/hour during applicable hours on 2nd shift. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position. ACR reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
