Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and driven Custom Home Sales Manager with a strong background in new home sales—specifically in custom build-on-your-lot (BOL) programs. This role is ideal for a sales professional who excels at guiding clients through the custom homebuilding process, from initial consultation to contract execution, while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the sales process for custom homes built on customer-owned land
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified prospects through networking, referrals, and marketing initiatives
- Conduct in-depth client consultations to understand needs, budget, land conditions, and design preferences
- Educate buyers on the custom homebuilding process, timelines, financing, and land preparation requirements
- Collaborate with internal teams (construction, design, and operations) to ensure seamless project execution
- Prepare and present pricing, proposals, and purchase agreements
- Maintain consistent follow-up and communication with prospects and clients
- Track sales performance and meet or exceed monthly and annual sales goals
- Stay informed on market trends, competitor offerings, and industry best practices
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of new home sales experience, with a strong emphasis on custom homes and build-on-your-lot programs
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Deep understanding of the residential construction process, especially for custom builds
- Experience working with buyers who already own land or are purchasing land
- Strong consultative sales skills and the ability to manage complex transactions
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities
- Self-motivated, organized, and results-driven
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience running marketing campaigns and creating/cultivating a strong social media presence
- Knowledge of local zoning, permitting, and land development considerations
