What are the responsibilities and job description for the Activity Assistant position at McMurray Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare?
Assist in planning, developing, organizing, and implementing the activities program.
Meet with the Activities Coordinator for planning activities.
Develop and maintain a good working rapport with other departments within the facility and network
with outside community agencies.
Assist in the development of, and participation in, regularly scheduled in-service training programs.
Assist in the arrangement and escort of residents with field trips whenever necessary.
Assist in the recording and maintaining records of resident’s participation in activities.
Maintain CONFIDENTIALITY of all pertinent resident care information to assure residents rights are
protected.
Assist with the maintenance of the Volunteer Program.
Report any changes in the resident’s condition immediately to the Nursing Department.
Reports all incidents/accidents immediately.
Assist in the scheduling of outside activities and groups for the residents.
Recommend to the Director of Activities the equipment and supply needs of the department.
Distribute mail/periodicals to residents.
Assist in assessing resident upon admission and chart resident’s progress.
Prepare and post the Reality Orientation Board regularly.
