McLeod Centers for Wellbeing is currently searching for a Full-time Revenue Cycle Specialist to work in a hybrid role for the Revenue Cycle Management department at its headquarters in Charlotte, NC.
How will you help us achieve our mission? You will:
- Identify, research, and resolve claim denials; initiate appeals and follow up to secure payment.
- Analyze denial trends and root causes; recommend and implement process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with payer, state, and federal guidelines for behavioral health claims.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure accurate documentation and coding.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and pre-authorizations; Submit clean claims, reconcile payments, and address underpayments or payment discrepancies.
- Stay current on payer requirements and behavioral health billing best practices.
- Support patient account inquiries and provide billing statements.
- Assist with insurance verification, collections, and AR follow-up.
- Participate in staff training on denial prevention and RCM workflows.
What are the qualifications needed for this role?
- Minimum: High School diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree preferred
- Experience in behavioral health/SUD billing and denial management preferred.
- Knowledge of insurance billing, coding, and payer guidelines.
- CRCR Certification preferred.
