JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Executive Director Reports to: Board of Directors Starting Salary: $75K - $90K (DOE) Work: Full-Time | M-F | 9-5

Exempt: An individual is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) because he or she is classified as an executive, professional, administrative, or outside sales employee, and meets the specific criteria for the exemption.
Summary/Objective:
The Executive Director of McLennan Community Investment Fund (“McCIF”) will lead our organization as a community development financing entity, providing affordable financial products to small businesses in economically distressed areas of McLennan County, Texas. The Executive Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of daily operations of our organization, ensuring that we operate efficiently and effectively to carry out our mission and meet business goals. The Executive Director will be the face of McCIF, working closely with all segments of society and the business community.
The Executive Director will ensure that all staff members support McCIF’s mission and vision to successfully achieve strategic objectives. We place a high priority on communication, recognition, and collaboration, and the Executive Director must be aligned with our culture and enhance it through positive leadership. The Executive Director will implement McCIF’s mission, vision, and programs successfully and strive to achieve strategic objectives.
Required education, licenses, certification, and experience:
1. Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field or currently enrolled in an accounting or finance major (preferred)
2. Three or more years of experience in a leadership or management role
3. One year or more experience in the financial services sector (preferred)
4. One year or more experience in business underwriting (preferred)
5. Valid Texas Drivers’ License and Personal Auto Insurance Policy
6. Acceptable background check that includes a credit check
Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
1. Experience in the financial services sector preferred, e.g., loan underwriting and documentation, maintenance and security of loan applications, keeping of vital records.
2. Ability to make operational decisions within guidelines established by the Board of Directors.
3. Ability to recruit and manage qualified and professional staff
4. Cultivate and reinforce relationships across a wide spectrum of constituencies 5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
6. Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish fluently (preferred)

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Manage all operational functions as outlined by the Board of Directors and policies of McCIF
2. Ensure all aspects of the U.S. Treasury’s Community Development Financial Institutions Fund (cdfifund.gov) to facilitate McCIF are followed to remain Certified CDFI
3. Stay knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations that govern, affect, or impact McCIF and its functions;
4. Develop and present to the Board of Directors strategic plans that meet the business goals and objectives of McCIF;
5. Open and maintain regular conversations with all third party consultants
6. Timely submit annual budgets and periodic reports to the Board of Directors that transparently reflect the financial and operational conditions of McCIF
7. Adhere to McCIF’s core values, internally and externally, to demonstrate a commitment to those values
8. Observe good fiscal management practices within the approved budget to assure maximum resource utilization and a positive financial position
9. Be actively involved, support, and fulfill decisions made by the Board Committees
10. Lead resource development necessary to sustain the operations of McCIF with particular focus on securing funding to provide financial services to clients
11. Identify, hire, mentor, and retain high-performing staff members who are dedicated to engagement, professional development, and continuing service
12. Set standards of accountability and performance measures to achieve strategic goals
13. Deploy available resources (human, financial, and assets) to engage in operations that are appropriate, support the mission, and promote growth and the community
14. Create a culture of collaboration, transparency and open communications throughout the organization.
15. Serve as lead spokesperson for McCIF, maintain community visibility, devise and execute public relations initiatives, attend networking programs, facilitate and coordinate mission opportunities through contacts with depository financial institutions and other nonprofit organizations
16. Identify and take proactive measures to mitigate financial, operational, and reputational risks to McCIF; timely advise the Board of Directors of critical risks and/or crises that could adversely affect the organization; and
17. Maintain communications with the Board
18. Other responsibilities and duties delegated by the Board of Directors 19. Ensure the recruitment of potential clients and follow up on referral success
Physical demands:
1. Ability to work in a moderate to fast-paced office working environment
2. Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
3. Ability to access and navigate all areas of the work environment
4. Ability to lift a minimum up to 25 pounds at a time
5. Ability to physically bend, push, pull, stretch, move hands, wrist and fingers frequently
6. Ability to work 40 hours per week with occasional extended hours
7. Ability to withstand brief periods of hot and cold weather conditions
