Superintendent

McLean Independent School District is seeking a visionary, student-centered leader to serve as Superintendent of Schools. The Superintendent serves as the chief executive officer of the district and works collaboratively with the Board of Trustees, staff, students, parents, and community members to lead all district operations and educational programs. McLean ISD is a close-knit rural district serving approximately 170 students in the Texas Panhandle. The district values strong relationships, high expectations, community involvement, and a commitment to student success. Primary Responsibilities: Provide leadership for all district educational and operational programs Work collaboratively with the Board of Trustees to establish district goals and priorities Promote academic excellence and student achievement Maintain a positive and supportive district culture Oversee district budgeting, finance, and resource management Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements Support recruitment, development, and retention of high-quality staff Build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and community stakeholders Communicate effectively with all stakeholder groups Support safe and effective school operations Lead long-range planning and continuous improvement efforts The ideal candidate should demonstrate: Strong leadership and organizational skills Integrity, transparency, and professionalism Effective communication and community engagement Student-centered decision making Ability to build trust and positive relationships Knowledge of budgeting, school finance, and district operations Commitment to staff development and instructional improvement Strategic planning and problem-solving abilities Preferred experience includes: Construction management VATRE and/or bond election planning Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA)
