Qualifications
- Foundational civil engineering skills, including site design, roadway and utility layout, grading, and drainage analysis.
- Proficiency with design and drafting tools such as AutoCAD or similar CADD software, and ability to work with 3D models.
- Basic knowledge of construction practices, reading and interpreting plans, and supporting construction administration activities.
- Understanding of relevant codes and standards related to municipal infrastructure, ADA compliance, and transportation design.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills to perform engineering calculations and evaluate design options.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with project teams, survey staff, and clients.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field; EIT certification or ability to obtain it is preferred.
- Ability to work on-site in Sioux Falls, SD, manage multiple tasks, and maintain attention to detail under project deadlines.
- Familiarity with GIS, hydrology/hydraulics software, or roadway design tools is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and eligibility to work in the United States.
