Dr's McLaughlin and Spendlove are looking for an Orthodontic Assistant to join our amazing team. Come work for the best in a fun, fast paced office helping patients of all ages achieve beautiful and healthy smiles.

Job Duties include:
- assisting the orthodontist during a variety of treatment procedures
- taking dental radiographs (x-rays)
- sterilizing instruments and equipment
- helping patients feel comfortable before, during and after orthodontics treatment
- providing patients with instructions for oral care following procedures, such as the placement of an expander, braces or laser surgery.
- teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health;
(e.g., tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling)
- taking impressions of patients' teeth for study casts (models of teeth)
- adjusting and placing arch wires, braces, bands, expanders, retainers and other orthodontic appliances, removal of braces
- maintaining a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- documenting procedures and services by charting in patient records
- ensuring operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques
- maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
Position hours vary 32-40 weekly hours depending on the schedule. Must be available Monday through Friday.
