About the Role: The NPD Process Engineer will be responsible for new product development projects which include managing projects through each stage of the concept-to-launch process, from detailed cost estimate, to successful prototyping, and finally commercialization, all while meeting customer specific requirements as well as company targets and quality standards (ISO 13485 / IATF 16949).


Responsibilities:

  • Guide and expedite all stages of prototype associated with new product development using project management best practices, including establishing timelines and milestones, appropriate escalation, preventing scope creep, proactive reminders, and ensure realization of deliverables.
  • Lead First Article Inspection (FAI), ISIR and/or PPAP, and IQ/OQ/PQ associated with new produhorouct design and APQP principles throughout the development process.
  • Document project information, including communication with the customer about deadlines and performance requirements, concept ideas, risk analysis, coordination with external vendors, and action items.
  • Work closely with Sales, Chemists, and Advanced Product Development, define the customer’s needs and establish the materials, processes, equipment, and design features most likely to combine into a successful solution.
  • Understand and employ the principals of Lean Product Development.

Required Skills:

  • Candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering.
  • PMP certification highly preferred.
  • Must have a background in rubber injection molding.
  • Proven experience performing PPAP and/or IQ/OQ/PQ.
  • Must have strong project management skills, such as: meeting (exceeding) deadlines, updating status, tracking spending, overcoming roadblocks, and timely, accurate communication.
  • In-depth understanding of APQP Core Tools, i.e. Control Plan, FMEA, MSA, and SPC. Familiarity with User Requirement Specification is beneficial.
  • Working knowledge of statistics, particularly Cpk, t-tests, boxplots, regression, and main effects plots. MiniTab experience is valuable.
  • Problem-solving methodology and implementation; able to collect information from databases, observations, and communication, create and test hypotheses, and develop robust fixes with data to support effectiveness.
  • Professional communication with global coworkers and customers. Occasional travel to customer base and other plants for training.

Salary : $100,000 - $110,000
