Job Summary
We are looking for a dependable and skilled Heavy Equipment Test Operator / Field Technician to support our product testing operations. In this role, you will operate various types of heavy machinery through controlled courses, obstacles, and real-world conditions to evaluate equipment performance, durability, and safety. This position plays a key part in our product development and quality assurance processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (skid steers, excavators, loaders, forklifts, telehandlers, etc.) across obstacles, test tracks, and challenging terrains according to test plans.
- Conduct controlled maneuvers designed to test traction, handling, durability, wear, and stability of products.
- Assist engineering and production teams with setup, calibration, and preparation of equipment for testing.
- Perform basic maintenance, inspections, and adjustments to test vehicles and machinery.
- Follow strict safety protocols and ensure all testing is performed in a controlled and compliant environment.
- Identify issues, abnormalities, or failures and report them clearly to supervisors or engineers.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1–3 years of experience operating heavy equipment (construction, agriculture, or industrial).
- Strong understanding of equipment handling, controls, and safe operation.
- Ability to operate machines in tight, variable, and obstacle-heavy environments.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting or minor adjustments.
- Valid driver's license (CDL a plus).
- Ability to lift 75–100 lbs and work in outdoor or test-site conditions.
- Strong communication and reporting skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in product testing, quality control, or equipment evaluation.
- Familiarity with hydraulics, electrical systems, or equipment diagnostics.
- Certifications such as OSHA 10/30, NCCER, or heavy equipment operator certifications.
- Experience operating multiple machine types or attachments.
