Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Required:
Graduate of an accredited school of Medicine.
Michigan Licensure as a M.D. or D.O.
Preferred:
Previous experience working as a Hospitalist

Position Summary:
Provides physician patient care services as a team member of the MRMC Hospitalist group.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Provide Hospitalist Services for all Medical Center patients designated to the care of the Hospitalist Service;
- Accept all patients assigned to the Hospitalist Service (“Hospitalist Patients”), regardless of such patients’ medical insurance, ability to pay or participation in any managed care or alternative health care delivery programs;
- Provide medical evaluation, consultation, and follow-up care for Hospitalist Patients;
- Perform all internal medicine professional physician services necessary for the proper care of Hospitalist Patients consistent with the physician’s privileges;
- Provide care for Hospitalist Patients that meets “quality indicators” and is efficient in meeting the patients’ health care needs;
- Communication with all appropriate physicians and non-physician health care providers as necessary to ensure the best possible care for Hospitalist Patients;
- Supervise all medical emergencies occurring in the Medical Center during the Physician’s shift, unless the patient’s attending or consultant has assumed direct responsibility for supervising/running the resuscitative effort (Codes Blue and White and Rapid Response Team);
- Provide consultative services to the Emergency Department regarding Hospitalist patients when disposition of the patients is in question;
Required:
Graduate of an accredited school of Medicine.
