Position Summary
Responsible for assisting the provider and other ancillary administrative staff with basic office medical functions to ensure a coordinated approach to patient activities.Works closely with the provider to ensure expedient, appropriate patient care.

Position Summary

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Answers telephone and written inquiries concerning the Bariatric Surgery Program and patient status.
- Maintains patient records including charting patient activities including visits, reported medical changes, developments, and problems. Records patient weights and blood pressure readings.
- Schedules appointments and performs registration functions on appointed/walk-in patients to the clinic.
- Phones in prescriptions to pharmacy as required.
- Collects patient fees, accounts for funds and deposits cash receipts daily. Sells and distributes dietary supplements to patients as directed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of approved program for Medical Assistant or 1 year of experience as a medical assistant.
- Certified Medical Assistant.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical equipment.
- Previous medical office experience.
